Family Compact
A Family-School Compact for Achievement is an agreement that families, students and teachers develop together. It explains how families and teachers will work together to make sure that all students get the individual support they need to reach and exceed grade level standards.
SPPS Goals
- Decrease disparities in achievement based on race, ethnicity, culture and identity
- Increase achievement of English Learners
- Increase achievement of students receiving special education services.
- Improve kindergarten readiness
- Increase academic growth in reading and math for all students
- Prepare all graduates for the workplace.
How We Support Your Student at School
We will work with students and their families to support students’ success in reading and math. Some of our key connections with families will be to:
- Provide families with materials to practice math and reading skills
- Send home books that students can read every night, along with strategies for students and families.
- Send a newsletter home with important information that will include our calendar and community support.

How to Support Your Student at Home
Saint Paul Music Academy parents joined staff to develop ideas about how families can support student’s success in reading and math. Families may have other ideas to add to this list.
- Practice math facts daily for 10 minutes or with different materials sent home.
- Encourage children to make up real life math problems using the facts
- Check your child’s homework daily.
- Read with or listen to your child read daily for 20 minutes.
- Check your child’s backpack and folders daily.
- Participate in Library Go to engage more students in reading.
